Shakeology for breakfast… Why???
Guys! I was making my Shakeology this morning for breakfast and as I was blending it I was rattling off in my head all the reasons why I love this {Miracle} shake. And I don’t use the word {Miracle} lightly. LOL. But in all seriousness, Shakeology has completely changed the way I do breakfast and so much more. There is SO much I love about Shakeology and I just wanted to share with those who are struggling to find the IDEAL breakfast solution.
How many of you skip breakfast more often than not because you are running out the door trying to get your kids off to school and then yourself to work. You allow yourself enough time in the mornings to make breakfast for the kiddos, because let’s face it, your kids HAVE to eat, and then you grab a cup of coffee for yourself and out the door you go. But what about YOU???
Your kids have full bellies and are off to school and you even managed to get yourself to work on time. SCORE! Or so you think… until you realize that it is 9:30 am and you have been up for 3+ hours and have put nothing of nutritional value in to your body. Unless you are counting the cup of coffee you managed to choke down on the car ride to school.
SO BAD FOR YOU!!! We all know this right? But knowing that something is bad for us doesn’t make it any easier for us to change what we are doing, especially when we feel like we can’t possibly add anything else to our plates.

Lack of Energy- Without putting healthy calories in your body for energy within an hour of waking, your body may not have enough energy to perform daily functions. Your body then begins to use energy stored as glucose from your tissues. This in turn will cause you to feel tired and lethargic. “Mid-morning slump” much???
Increased Hunger- Well this is a no-brainer!!! If you don’t eat, you will probably get hungry ;-). The longer you wait, the more hungry you get. And the more hungry you get, the more likely you are to reach for that unhealthy snack. It’s kinda like the book “If you Give a Mouse a Cookie”… Right??
Drop in Metabolism– Your body is designed to survive no matter what is thrown at it. If you stop eating, or don’t eat for hours at a time your metabolism slows down to conserve energy. So if you skip breakfast and then eat a large lunch (because likely you will be starving by then), the food that you do eventually take in is not burned off at an efficient rate.
Now that we know WHY skipping breakfast is {BAD NEWS}… WHAT can you do you do about it?
EAT BREAKFAST!!
